Marie begins acting classes on a lark, after the death of her husband. Finally lifting herself out of depression, Marie discovers a talent for acting that takes her from community theater to Broadway, with an unexpected stop at Divaville. Marie's rediscovery of her true self is at the heart of this original play by local playwright Dale Whisman.
These performances are directed towards seniors and other admirers (all ages will be accepted of course!). The cast and crew are made up of Senior citizens. The play will be staged as a reading performance. With well known Tulsa actors you can expect a stellar performance. This is a new concept that is sweeping the country and Heller Theatre is sponsoring and producing our initial productions.
'Round the Bend Players' is the first senior theater
troupe established in Tulsa. Its main focus has been
establishing a senior theater program for mature aged
performers. Rita Boyle and Sherry Zyskowski are the
founders of the program.
In addition to our theatrical efforts, we will also have established a base of senior performers with musicians, actors and entertainers from all venues and offer their talents around town, in residence homes, assisted living facilities and nursing homes as well as any organization interested.
